Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Bickleigh Down Church of England Primary School, we are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing so that every member of our community can thrive. Guided by our vision of spurring each other on with love, and rooted in our values of love, hope, aspiration, forgiveness and spirit, we create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Through our curriculum, including PSHE, assemblies and class discussions, we teach children about their feelings, resilience and positive coping strategies, helping them to understand and manage their emotions with confidence. We encourage kindness, empathy and open communication in all that we do, and we work closely with families by providing resources, workshops and guidance so that children are supported both in school and at home. By nurturing resilience and emotional skills, we equip our pupils to face challenges with confidence, develop positive relationships and grow into happy, healthy learners.

Parent Support Resource Map

At Bickleigh Down CofE Primary School, we understand that family life can sometimes feel challenging. Whether you are looking for advice about behaviour, emotional wellbeing, mental health, or support during a difficult time, you are not alone.

We have created this Parent Support Resource Map to help you quickly find trusted organisations and services that offer guidance, reassurance and practical help. These services provide information, helplines and online support for a wide range of needs, including:

  • Children and young people’s mental health

  • Behaviour and parenting support

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Grief and bereavement

  • Support for siblings

  • Crisis and urgent help

Some families may only need simple advice or reassurance. Others may need more specialist support. Whatever your situation, we hope this guide helps you feel supported and informed.

If you are ever unsure about where to start, please speak to a member of our school team. We are always here to listen and to help you find the right support for your family.
